It's been a minute since I talked about my favorite hobby. No time like the present!
Over the last two years, my wife and I have built up a solid firearms collection. Whether for range time, self-defense, or just appreciating well-made guns, each one we own serves a purpose. While neither of us currently carry, you never know what the future holds. For now, here’s a look at what’s in our collection.
I feel like this needs to be said. We shoot all of these guns at the range only. It's a hobby.
Handguns: Range Time and Home Defense
Handguns are the foundation of our collection, offering versatility for target shooting, home defense, and potential future carry. Each one has its own feel and function, making range days more enjoyable as we switch between them.
Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm M2.0 (My Wife’s)
A solid all-around handgun that does everything well. It’s ergonomic, reliable, and has a great trigger for a striker-fired pistol. My wife loves this one for its feel and ease of use.

Sig Sauer P365 X-Macro (with Holosun 507k Red Dot Optic) (My Wife’s – "Fun Gun")
While she doesn’t carry, my wife absolutely loves shooting this one at the range. The 17+1 capacity, comfortable grip, and smooth shooting experience make it her go-to “fun gun.” The Holosun red dot only adds to the enjoyment.
The workhorse. It’s simple, reliable, and built to last. A staple in many collections for a reason, and a great range gun.
Glock 19 MOS (with Holosun Green Dot Optic)
A slightly smaller, more versatile version of the G17. The Holosun SCS MOS green dot takes accuracy to another level, making it a great option for both home defense and the range.

SCCY CPX-2 9mm (Home Defense Pistol)
This is our default home defense pistol, kept easily accessible in the bedroom—though I hope to never need it. It’s a budget-friendly option, but it’s reliable enough for the role.
Walther PPK .380 (Potential Carry Option)
There’s something special about owning a PPK—it’s sleek, historic, and just fun to shoot. While it may not be the most practical choice for modern carry, it’s a cool addition to the collection.
If I ever decide to carry, this is the one I’d likely choose. It’s compact, feels great in hand, and has that classic design that makes it stand out. Plus I feel like James Bond when I shoot it.
Rifles: Hitting the Range and Beyond
Rifles add another level of precision and power to our collection, making them a great choice for range shooting and training. Whether it’s plinking at targets or refining skills with optics, these rifles bring a whole different experience compared to handguns.
I didn't feel like digging these out of the cases, so no pictures, sorry.
Smith & Wesson M&P15 Sport II (My Wife’s)
A solid AR-15 that’s easy to shoot and well-built. My wife picked this one out, and it’s been a great rifle for range days.
Palmetto State Armory AR-15 (with Sig Sauer Romeo 5 Red Dot Optic)
This PSA build has been a great addition to my collection. With the Sig Sauer red dot, it’s quick on target and performs reliably. PSA makes quality rifles at great prices, and this one has been a solid performer for me.
Final Thoughts
It’s been a fun two years of buying and learning about firearms. My wife has her favorites, and I have mine, but every gun in our collection has earned its place. Whether you’re into shooting for sport, self-defense, or just the appreciation of good craftsmanship, there’s always something new to explore.
