A little while ago, I wrote about my struggles with mobility and how I was seriously considering getting a scooter. Well, after plenty of research, debating, and renting, I finally took the plunge. I bought a Pride Mobility Go-Go Sport 3-Wheel Scooter!
I haven’t actually used it yet, but I’m already excited about the independence and freedom it’s going to give me. Honestly, it's going to make navigating Costco much easier.
Why I Chose the Pride Mobility Go-Go Sport Scooter
When looking for a scooter, I had a few key things in mind:
Portability – I wanted something easy to transport for everyday use and travel.
Maneuverability – The 3-wheel design makes tight turns easier, which will help in stores, crowded places, and of course ride queues at Disney World.
Easy Disassembly – It breaks down into five lightweight pieces, so loading it into the car should be a breeze. Or, you can just simply remove the seat and fold it. Fits nicely in the back of a small SUV.
It's Customizable – It comes with two colors of shrouds so you can change the color or the scooter on the fly. If you want too.
Reliability – It has a solid battery life, good speed, and can handle different terrains.
Red shrouds. I've got the blue on now.
The Go-Go Sport 3-Wheel checked all of those boxes, making it the perfect fit for my needs.
What I’m Most Excited About
Even though I haven’t taken it for a spin yet, I know this scooter is going to be a game-changer.
✔️ Running errands without worrying about fatigue – No more cutting trips short because my legs aren’t cooperating.
✔️ Navigating stores with ease – No more searching for the nearest bench to rest.
✔️ Bringing it on trips – It’s airline-friendly, meaning I can take it on vacation instead of renting one. Which means it will pay for itself after a short time.
✔️ More freedom overall – I’ll be able to go more places without worrying about how far I can walk.
I know it’ll take some getting used to, especially going through Costco, but I already feel like this was the right choice. The idea of being able to enjoy outings without constantly thinking about how much energy I have left is huge.
Putting It to the Test
Now that I have my scooter, my next step is actually getting out there and using it! I can’t wait to take it on vacation, it's going to save us so much money in the end.
The Next Step? Going through TSA and flying with it for the first time. I'm sure it will go smoothly but the first time is always stressful.
If you’ve ever thought about getting a mobility scooter but weren’t sure if it was the right move, I’ll be sharing more of my experiences soon. And you know that there will be some Scooter/Disney content coming.
